Breed clubs also care for the health of the breed. Except recommendations concerning care and training of the English Cocker Spaniel, clubs do research work. Thus, English Cocker Spaniel clubs are concerned with Rage Syndrome in English Cocker Spaniels.
Though this disease is not common for the breed, it does trouble breed owners. An affected dog is aggressive without any reasons. The dog will unexpectedly threaten its owners. The cause of the condition is not known. It may be that Rage Syndrome is inherited. However, the disease is not spread and there is little information on it. It is an objective of breed clubs to find out more about this condition in English Cocker Spaniels.
